Challenge

SPIN Magazine wanted to attract readers online and engage current subscribers in new ways. Studio Sedition was engaged to create a prototype for the digital edition of the magazine. SPIN Magazine sought the cutting edge skills of Studio Sedition’s team to develop a dynamic Flash product to help demonstrate the possibilities of this new format.

Solution

Studio Sedition delivered a dynamic Flash template developed with ActionScript and powered by a flexible and up-datable XML structure to handle future editions. Individual interactive screens built in Flash are dynamically loaded into the template based on the XML definition. Each screen is tied to the main navigation and a list of social sharing options to highlight the current section as well as all the available social networks associated with the screen.

Result

Studio Sedition showed SPIN Magazine what was possible by creating a prototype digital edition. A variety of interactive elements including hyperlinks, search functionality, bookmarking and multimedia are incorporated to enhance the user experience. While social networking options allow viewers to connect in new ways.
