The New York City Coalition Against Hunger (NYCCAH) is the voice for the more than 1,200 nonprofit soup kitchens and food pantries in New York City and the more than 1.4 million low-income New Yorkers who live in homes that can’t afford enough food.
NYCCAH engaged Studio Sedition to integrate new functionality into their existing Drupal content-management system. With design provided by Do Not Bend the design integration and Drupal development required a complete overhaul of the clients CSS stylesheets to update a Drupal theme that powers hundreds of pages. Custom JavaScript/jQuery functionality was written for photo slideshows, drop-down navigation and more. New site functionality included custom PHP to display new blog posts and events on the home page and sub pages, blog categories on blog pages, sidebar widgets, a dynamic list of sub pages on all landing pages, breadcrumbs and social media sharing.
The NYCCAH donation form was also updated by eliminating unnecessary fields and reconfiguring the layout to make it more intuitive and easier to use. NYCCAH had an existing WordPress blog with hundreds of blog posts that we were able to transfer and consolidate into their Drupal CMS. The result is a completely CMS-driven website that allows NYCCAH to manage page copy and photos, track event attendance and donations and communicate to their audience through blog posts.
